Patients that suffer from gum recession not only appear to have “long teeth,” but the exposed roots also may cause sensitivity to hot or cold foods. A root coverage gum graft allows a stable band of proper gum tissue to be placed around a tooth or teeth to cover exposed portions of roots. Root coverage procedures help develop gum tissue where needed to make teeth or dental implants look more natural.
